get refreshed, socialize and find out what’s going on with their amigos. We hope this newsletter does the same for all of you. KCA Family: First, we would like to welcome the newest member of the KCA family. Congratulations to Teresa Trull of KCA In the News: Well the KCA had a great showing at the 2007 Kigerfest. A big congratulations and/or thank you to everyone who came, whether you participated in the show, helped or just watched. It was really great to have you all there. Congratulations to Pam Perdue and Wallowa’s Mountain Shadow, a 4 yr old KCA grulla mare. They brought home: Champion Halter mare, a reserve high point, three 1st, four 2nd and one 4th place ribbon. Pam also won the coveted ‘Golden Horseshoe’ or
‘Dusty Seat’ Award for her unauthorized dismount from Shadow in the parking lot. Michele Harris and Wallowa’s Mountain Rebel aka ‘Rebel’ a 4 yr old KCA
gelding won a 4th place ribbon but got first in our book, for her first show and his first public appearance. Way to go Michele! Pinie Minto
who acquired Sierra Mountain Storm, a 2 yr old dark grulla gelding from us in June, did very well on her Kiger mare. We’ll all have to look out for Storm in the ring next year. From the KCA’s personal cavy: KCA Hangtown Maverick our 2 yr old
silver grulla stallion prospect won the prestigious “Dun Factor Championship” as well as 6 ribbons. Then I (Sue Watkins) was aboard Wallawo’s Rio Smoke, Eli’s
8 yr old grulla gelding, who out did himself in his first horse show by going in 32 classes in the 2 days including Dressage, Trail, Halter, English and Western! All that while battling an allergic reaction that was so severe it
landed him in the vet hospital the week before. The cumulative total for the KCA entries was: High Point Sr. Rider-Open, Reserve High Point Sr. Rider-Kiger, Reserve High Point Sr. Horse-Open, 3rd place - High Point Sr. Horse-Kiger, Champion Open Gelding, Champion
Kiger Gelding, eleven 1st, eight 2nd, five 3rd, eight 4th, five 5th place ribbons. Boy did I need a nap after that. KCA Horses: Well our long awaited 2007 load of 5 Kigers finally arrived last week. Once they were unloaded and settled, we realized it was more then worth the wait! You have never seen a more beautiful set of colts in your life. Before they even arrived 3 of the 5 were spoken for.

The remaining two are currently being prepared for sale. KCA El Grande Rojo aka ‘Red” is a 4 yr old deep red, Dun gelding. He is very long and tall. He is a great English or speed event prospect. Red is currently being halter broke and his base price is $2,800.00.
KCA Colorada con Brio aka ‘Dot’ is a 3 yr old solid bay mare. She is very personable, with magnificent style and action. She is
truly a horse ‘con Brio’ (with heart). Her current price is $3,000.00. Once she is under saddle the price will be $4500.00. She will go into training next month.
KCA Training: I want to apologize for having such a long waiting list for training openings. I am adding new corrals to my facility and adjusting my work schedule as fast as I can. Please be patient and keep calling to
check on space availability. I currently have room for one more full time horse in training. I always have time to give lessons, whether you choose to trailer your horse here, have me come to you or you come ride on one of my horses,
Just give me a call. Depending on the location etc. lessons run from $40.00 to $60.00 each. Full time training is $700.00 per month for outside horses, KCA horses get a discount of $650.00 per month. I will also show your horse,
coach and prep you and/or your horse at a show or participate in any kind of Kiger promotion. KCA Upcoming Events: We are hoping to make the SHA Fall Series Horse Shows, but no promotional events are planned for September as we have our hands full with all the new horses. An open house is in the works for October so
everyone can come ‘oooh and aaaw’ over the recent arrivals. KCA For MECATES: As mentioned above Teresa Trull is making us ‘kustom kiger’ Mecates. They are 22’ parachute cord in black and gold. Words can’t describe what they look like on a grulla!! And she just called to tell me she is going to make some in chocolate and tan for the Duns. These are the best quality on the market today. They handle like no others and will last a lifetime. The Macates are usually $120.00 and the slobber straps are $15.00. But through us they are $100.00 and $10.00 respectfully. She also makes custom rope halters and lead ropes.
SADDLE: Eli has a 16” Black Australian Fox Poley saddle with matching breast collar for sale. It is in great condition, comes with all the fittings and black sheepskin pad. $450.00. TRAILER: Sue has a 12’ full enclosed double axle cargo trailer for sale. It would make a great shoeing trailer, welder’s trailer, display, cargo, concession etc. $1,500.00 OBO Call for more details.
